Dr N is Doctor Jerry Nosanchuk, D.O Dr N's Philosophy:
The content of this site reflects my own personal bias and is based on impressions garnered in over 30 years of medical practice, the last 18 of which have been focused on the care and treatment of menopausal women. I know that some may vigorously disagree with my thoughts. Are my opinions reasonable and my impressions accurate? To the best of my knowledge they are, but as new knowledge is acquired, what was true yesterday, may no longer be true today. When I began to focus my professional efforts in the area of menopause much of what was "known" by the general population and physicians was a product of myths and misinformation. In the mid-80's I received calls from physicians who were horrified that I would prescribe HRT to patients, "just because they wanted it". About that time I was invited and attended, "The First Consensus Conference on Osteoporosis," held at "The National Institutes of Health," in Bethesda, Maryland. At that meeting, a panel of experts from all over the globe, concluded estrogen replacement was of value in the prevention of Post Menopausal Osteoporosis. I looked on, as an angry few, who obviously disagreed with that decision, stood, teeth bared, shouting their displeasure. Today, people continue to express diverse opinions about what menopause represents and how it should be addressed. I can only speak for myself. My agenda has always been to protect the health of my patients and to improve and maintain their quality of life. I intend to continue doing just that.
